My life, designed by me.
As I have mentioned before, my friend Vanessa is the publisher and editor of the gorgeous online magazine Mindful Parenting. In a new joint venture with Leaf. Paper For Life she has created a free e-book that anyone can download, called Mindful Moments. It is a beautiful publication that encourages enjoying those small yet valuable moments with your children to create happiness through gratitude. You can read more about the project here. When I read the e-book I was keen to get on board.
So I am starting my Mindful Moments Journal Project on January 28th for 4 weeks with my 5 year old and my 17 year old. I am interested to see how different and how similar the interactions and mindful moments are with each of them and I am looking forward to making a journal from the experience. I have set dates purely for the purpose of keeping myself to a timetable, however the project is not something that requires this. The project encourages gratitude and observing mindful moments with your children every day.
The best part is you don’t need to buy anything special or have special equipment to make your own journal. The e-book contains some gorgeous printables to use if you wish. However, ‘journal’ is simply a way of describing the way you preserve your mindful moments. You can take photos and use an app to make them into a collage on your iPad with some notes. You can decide that you might like to take 1 special photo a day for a certain period of time. There are many ways to create Mindful moments with children that can be adapted to suit your lifestyle and resources. You can ‘journal’ in the way that feels most comfortable to you. For some simply divine, traditional type journals, check out Leaf. Paper for Life.
I hope you find the Mindful Moments Journal Project as inspiring as I do, and enjoy my version of journalling with my children.
Look out for my first Mindful Moment Journal Project post on Thursday 31st January!
